Plantation Drive
On 16th July 2025, the JPIC (Justice, Peace and Integrity of Creation) members of SMC embarked on a heartening plantation drive, stepping beyond the school gates to sow seeds of green hope across various locations in Prayagraj. Students from Classes IX to XII, accompanied by five devoted teachers, took part in this meaningful endeavour. The opportunity was graciously provided by the Principal, Reverend Sister Lissy, the Vice Principal, Reverend Sister Namita, and Reverend Sister Regina who also arranged a school bus to ensure smooth travel for the participants while ensuring each and every participant boards the bus safely.
The drive was conducted under the thoughtful guidance of five JPIC member teachers. Carried out during the refreshing monsoon season—nature’s most nurturing time for new life—the activity not only enriched the environment but also awakened a deep sense of ecological responsibility among students. At the end of the drive as the students reached the school campus, Sr Lissy planted a sapling herself with the help of the teachers and students to inspire dedication, love and care towards nature. It was a harmonious blend of action and awareness, reflecting SMC’s steadfast commitment to sustainability and community care.
